If you have never attended this year Nashville Christmas bar crawl, let us explain. Imagine literally thousands of people young and old, all dressed up as their idea of Santa, descending onto 2nd Ave for one glorious night of bar crawling, singing and mingling. That’s a Santa rampage!
This annual Christmas bar crawl started almost over a decade ago with a few friends as a means to not only help their local bar friends downtown make money in the offseason but also a way to give to charity, Every year the Santa’s Rampage gives money to the charity of their choice. Over the years, The Nashville Santa rampage has grown from a few friends, dressed as Santa’s on 2nd Ave to over 5,000 people annually.
This event is at it’s core a bar crawl. Everyone mingles on 2nd Ave, bar-hopping from one bar to another, until eventually at a pre-determined time, all the Santa’s congregate at the courthouse, in front of the Christmas tree for the biggest Christmas group photo you’ve ever seen! Literally thousands of Santa’s will be signing, cheering and taking photos.
Once the photo is over, everyone walks back to 2nd Ave for more beverages and Christmas cheer. Here, various people will have VIP parties, bands or DJs for all to enjoy.
